I was an accident! born after Iran's revolution and grew up during Iran-Iraq war and sanctions. By the time I was 8 my two oldest sisters where in university and one of them was already married, my closest friend was my 16 years old brother who would interview me with a wired Sony microphone about revolution and it's affects on society! My favourite place was the dark damp room under the stairs going to the roof, full of magazines with romantic stories. Only if my mum knew the things I learnt in that cupboard under the stairs!
My favourite entertainment was using the off cut fabrics from the dresses my mum was making for her customers, or in a few occasion using a cut sleeve or a collar that honestly did look like an unwanted piece of fabric to my 8 years old eyes!
After connecting the pieces together I would draw on their faces and make families exactly how I learnt from my mum's magazines! They would have tea parties under the orange trees in the garden, drinking orange blossom's tea and try to enjoy their short life of one day. at the end of the day I would take them apart and made them ready to be recreated to new characters the day after!
